BUS-Wednesday Free Bus- November 2018

 November 7th 2018
Before I forget a thing I will type out the day and add photos later.
Left here a little after 9am to catch the 9:27am bus in to Chatham. Of course I walk faster than I think  so was too early. Kept walking Westward up hill so as to NOT miss the bus from behind. Stood near the South Chatham Library for about 10 minutes and the usual driver showed up. Jocular mood one of my favorites. Figured to condense time I would have him drop me at the old Cumberland Farms gas station. I went to CVS to get a birthday card for Brook Lowe an British distant cousin's son. Took fucking forever to find a decent card and wow some of them were over 8 bucks. From there I walked to Oyster Pond and took some photos then walked to the library. Perfect timing it had just opened. I printed out the Mazda registration and the letter to the tax board. It printed out 2 copies of the registration. Four people, me included were on four computers trying to print things. LOL
That done I gathered my things and found a table to sit at and fill out the envelopes. Licked them closed. note: it took over an hour to get the flavor of envelope glue out of my taste buds.
From there a pit stop at the rest rooms. Then slowly walked to the post office to mail the card and the tax board letter. 1 stamp was sufficient for the tax board letter and 3 Forever Star Trek stamps for the birthday card to England.
Headed West again to catch the bus to Hyannis. Kept looking over my shoulder for the bus even though I was still early. Took pix of the old Natural Food Store and then walked back towards Chatham so I would not have the bus "slip" by me. Same driver as the earlier bus! LOL I waited for that near Sporborg dentist office.
I swear I walked 10 miles today.
Bus ride to Hyannis not too bad but the bus was full- mostly older people for food and the free ride! :)
Get to Hyannis and am so hungry since it is after 12 noon I search for a place to sit after taking a pee. The benches outside were full of people taking up too much space . I figured it would be safer that side but shit had to walk out front and sit with my back to the wind, sitting on a granite slab of a bench.
and missed my fucking bus. But I was so hungry it did not matter. So had another 30 minutes to waste away. Pace pace sit stare. Bus shows up we pile in. I have him drop me at the Sears parking lot. I walk the distance I used to walk from my car to work there. Take pix outside and inside. Only two people I recognize are Olgert in appliances and Harry from shoes but now he does everything. I asked Olgert what he will do after the store closes. He says unemployment line. I ask Harry and he hopes KMart but has not heard back. Sad situation for those who still have to work. Many are retiring.
So Sears did not have the Dr Scholl's socks I need nor did they have any decent turtlenecks or pajama bottoms. ho hum.
Walked the Mall to the end- Barnes & Noble and the food court and Marshalls and Best Buy. Then realized shit I forgot I need to get to Joann Fabrics for yarn. The buses would be too much waiting so back I went to Sears. After checking Marshalls for socks and pajama bottoms. zip- what a bunch of crap in there. ugh I did not see Tevana in the Mall they either moved or I missed it or they are gone. Just looked it up- Tevana is gone.
So back through Sears and walk from the automotive area over to Jo Ann Fabrics. The winds were brutal! And cars every direction- but I know that is part of short cutting through a parking lot LOL
Damn Joann's didn't have the precise Lion Brand sock yarn I was looking for but picked up two shades of purple for socks and leg warmers. Leave Joanns and too fucking early for a bus again. So back to the mall and walk to the Marshall's entrance and sit on a bench there- oh my poor ass- and eat the rest of my orange and ginger. Another 30 minutes to waste. A bus shows up but the wrong one. Another 10 minutes. A woman gets off that one and she and I chat. She is training for a retail position with Macy's and thinks she will not catch on to the registers etc. I assured her once she gets the hang of it - she will be fine. She doesn't like retail though and was wearing heels LOL- I told her she needs sneaks if possible and cushiony socks. Macy's is very lenient in their dress code now. LOL
So we hop on the bus and continue talking about work- including the driver and another woman sitting there. That woman misinterpreted our talking of people grabbing ass as us saying harASSment. We all had a good laugh.
Finally get to the terminal and wait another 30 minutes for the 3:30pm bus. yow I am so freaking tired of sitting! So I go outside and find a bench to lean my bags on and roll a skein of yarn into a ball. A guy is already sitting at one bench taking up the entire bench. Another man shows up in red sneakers and lights a cigarette and sits down. The younger guys is talking loudly into his phone saying " can you hear me" I answer "yes WE can" so red sneakers laughs and I start small talk. He was in Provincetown all Summer and heading back to New Hampshire tired of the "scene" and will spend a couple of nights in Boston. So many interesting people to chat with down there.
So my bus finally shows up I get on and change seats as the sun was hitting me in the eyes. I sit opposite in a corner. and don't ya know someone woman plunks herself down next to me and proceeds to bend my ear and ask questions. ye gads this went on from Hyannis to Harwich Port Shaws! She reeked of scallions may have been raw in her bag but halfway through the bus ride I saw from the corner of my eye her take a small nip bottle from her bag and take a sip. Then follow it with water. I can still smell the alcohol and the scallions! Gonna need a mean ivory shower tonight or maybe just yellow Dial and  some harsh shampoo. She played with her phone constantly unable to complete a call.  She offered me money to use my phone- I refused the money but dialed the number and she talked to someone. I will have to reverse look that up. The crux of "her story" was: her father had bladder cancer- stage 4. but is better now. Her sister was a pediatrician and committed suicide last December. The woman was born in Akron Ohio same as Jana. This was getting creepy. And this woman talked of college and master's degrees etc. A boyfriend who lives in Somerville and works at Tufts in IT. Information overload. oh and the first thing she announced to everyone on the bus when getting on- she has vertigo and cannot look up or down and is slow walking. She got off the bus in Harwich Port with her legs spread wide apart.
egads I thought I would never get back to South Chatham and breathe fresh air. Finally hauled my ass up here and fixed a supper of broccoli, carrots green beans and garlic grape nuts etc. and a pita pocket with broth. Then fixed myself two mugs of black coffee and ate a dark chocolate Hershey kiss.
While typing this up the phone rang and it was the man who will pick up the Saturn tomorrow between 8 and 9 am.
photos tomorrow or when I get to it!

after CVS a walk by Oyster Pond from a higher view point
Walking around waiting for the bus to Hyannis
sign at "A Great Yarn"
Organic Market formerly Chatham Natural Foods Market in Chatham closed on the 3rd. I would have gotten closer but waiting for a bus and they whiz by too fast to "catch"

quite a row of "sparkly" rocks out front.

some abstract "art" at the terminal

then had the loop bus drop  me at the Sears parking lot. Took the same walk I did when I worked there.

then out into the Mall to go to Marshalls and check for socks there.

just as blurry as all Help Wanted signs look to me LOL

looks like Christmas decorations are up - not sure what is hidden under the black- too small for the Santa display.

could not resist

the above 4 were fashion offerings.

checked Marshalls no decent socks. Remembered I still had to get yarn at Jo Ann Fabrics so back through the mall I went.

the above was Sears Automotive - the sign was removed a while ago and it will be a parking lot soon.
so out into the wild winds and headed to Jo Ann Fabrics.
Got my yarns and headed for the bus stop near by. Realized I was too early. ugh one more time through the fucking mall.  Checked out Best Buy then stood outside and waited. and ate my orange segments and ginger. and waited. Guess it will be dark when I get back to Chatham.
blurry carousel- the way I would see it if on it.

Then I get outside and am confronted with either something sensual or an ad for tampon applicators.

so finally got on the bus back here as said above the seat mate from hell chattered and invaded my space for an hour. oh well. Her problems are worse than mine and if I remember I will avoid her next time.
