December 31 2021- winding down

 December 31 2021
It takes me a week at least before the end of the year to do the end of the year cleaning and organizing here. It involves:
Washing windows I can get to. Doors included. organizing drawers and tossing things that no longer fit and are not worth saving for rags. Even went through my rag pile and tossed a lot. Rearranged the freezer and now have vegetables on the top shelf and bread etc bottom. Did big laundry on Monday in the freaking rain and some things are still not dry. This is Friday. Did my thank you notes. Still have to communicate with Bill Moore. He sent a card. Bought underwear, soups spoons and a Casio watch with a  Visa gift card from Paula. Slippers with a Visa gift card from Jer & Kar. Still have 100.00 to use. Dara gave me an Esty gift card and I have received the Birthday assortment I ordered but still waiting for the Bohemian Bird note cards. Ordered a pellet dissection kit with Bob Paulson's amazon card- still waiting on that. So watch is set and spoons are washed and reorganized utensil drawer. Washed bathroom walls. Cleaned here on Thursday before food shop. That's an exhausting combination! Tossed my icord weather/wind indicators. Left the one long fuzzy white one out there by mistake, it is caught in the deck wood. Dusted which took  30  minutes and then 30 minutes of sneezing. touch free orgasms.
Finished up all but one knitting project and that is an asymetrical scarf-shawl
Can't think of anything else. Will try to stay awake for Midnight. Chatham was supposed to have fireworks at 5:30pm at Veterans Field but I heard nothing. Did a lot of ironing this week LOL Iron does not seem to be getting HOT. grrr. It is not that old.
Took lots of photos but will add them later. Chrome browser acting up and we will see how this goes using Firefox. Facebook acting up as well.

the wind catchers. Forgot to throw away the long white on and the one hanging on the wall outside- that's okay they are still useful.

I washed all my tank top bags I use for knit&walk. when I reversed them for ironing the bottom seams were full of yarn lint LOL

The lint roller after a few swipes

2022: ICE SCULPTURES & OTHER FROZEN THINGS -ART

looks like I have two artsy things going on here

Art

I have a  3rd cousin I found through dna- we are now friends on facebook. She moved to Tennessee  recently from California so cold weather is a novelty she is experimenting with. She laid some Autumn leaves on top of a saucer of water and they froze and made a glass (ice) plate. Very effective and wonderful looking. So I decided to give it a try but no leaves left. " All the leaves are brown and the skies are grey..."

So I am chronicling  the process with evergreens. mainly the volunteer juniper nearby and clippings from my rosemary plant.

It never really froze through. Either the evergreens keep it warm or I checked it too many times. We will see tomorrow what it does.

started one and then the weather was too warm it finally froze. Using  artificial red geranium petals and leaves.

Took a photo then it slipped from my hand into the shrub below. Try bending over while on a stairway

If I run out of inspiration I can do frozen knitwear.
