A nightmare & a Ditty

My alarm woke me from a dream I was teaching Kindergarten. I could not find the door to the class- it kept moving.  Found it and upon entering the class I saw little faces. But as I entered the room there were piles of socks lined up tied in knots. They were dingy and soggy. I was trying to untie when I woke up. Upon being awake! I wanted to remember a poem - ditty Dad Chrystie taught us when we were young. Panic I coiuld not even remember the first words - then it came to me

I have a shovel that is over 70 years old. It was always referred to as "the shit shovel" because that's what Mom used it for. Then it was joint ownership once I was old enough to lift the shovel. It was a daily activity. Mom died and I inherited it.Surprise ! dog shit started showing up  at her grave. Infuriating! I would report to her on each weekly visit the tally. Today I went to unearth  two rocks peeking through the ground below. Rocks are always larger than they appear. The shovel broke unearthing thrsr two. It will still be used but I feel like a ceremony is needed for the handle. LOL

woke remembering only snippets of the dream but it was very vivid.

There was a gathering of classmates from high school at a 2 story mechanics garage. Or at least that is what it looked like. I was trying to climb and was struggling but finally succeeded a wall that led to a drop down door like tha back of  a truck. This happened repeatedly and the drop down door was unstable.I amazed myself being able to lift my own weight. Woke up with tired arms. LOL

March 2

took a nap  before lunch. dreamed about shopping for food- no  details survive beyond me getting back here and unpacking purchases and seeing a small package the size if a pack of cigarettes. Flipped up the top and it was eggs. But tiny white eggs floaring around- they looked like tic tacs.

Woke up.

 I do not eat eggs.

Mom and I drove by this many times over the years and quickly reading the sign ( not in photo) say " oh deep fried ice cream" Mom-yum. Me: yuk ha ha

woke up to alarm as I was dreaming of being in a hairdressers chair looking at myself in the mirror and the hairdresser had electric trimmers in their hand and was buzzing back my hairline on my forehead.

There was an Asian man in a bath tub where I was cannot remember the details but there was a lot of conversation and the tub was huge  and square and full to the top.

Just watched Joe Scott video about lucid dreaming and left this comment

"I love to dream and feel cheated if I cannot remember them. I have found that  whatever I am doing or contemplating at 5 PM I wake next day having dreamed about it. I try to program dreams. It never seems to work when I am overtired though. Today I took a nap and was dreaming about a specific person washing out storage bins below my apartment. The sound of a hose was realistic. I woke to find my brother washing his car below. So maybe a noise created my dream. This was a fascinating video thank you."

August 14-15

Monday night or Tuesday early morning. Dreamed I was working in an attic. Then outside on the stairway here clearing snow from the steps with my bare arm.

2023: RANT- AUTOMATIC DOORS

First off I am not disabled.

 BUT I do use automatic doors. Last January 2022  I injured my arm when the wind took me, my arm, shoulder, and body and whipped all to the fence opposite by downstairs door. It pulled my left arm back and up. I have full use of right arm but not the left. No problem as long as I have right arm and am patient with myself and I do not have someone behind me with an attitude.

Awkward moment below

Okay so last week I handed in my Town Census at the town hall.I have many issues with the town doors everywhere. They are heavy and awkward. Well I finally got in with a hard tug. I was looking for the square thing you press and could not find it. Once inside and leaving I saw the feature to press to activate the door. Once outside I stood back and was looking for the "In" button. Someone was behind me and thanked me for holding the door for her. LOL. It just had not shut yet. I recognized her- she did not recognize me. Small wonder, I recognize everyone. Others do not. I just knew her as my step sister's friend and she worked at Cape Cod 5.

so today I was up in Orleans. Needed two items not in Star Market- so I drove over to the CVS. Same issue with the door! I maybe am just not seeing it so I took a photo. Once inside and leaving I saw the auto button to get out

I realize it will not be to the left as that is the OUT door. Next project is to take a photo of the town hall door.

remember the automatic door issue? well Saturday as tired as I was and the air was cold and the full small shopping cart was heavy to push I went and checked the CVS one in search of the press to open pad. I almost gave up then looked behind me on a post and there it was. good grief.

Coming out of CVS in Orleans I tried to use the button to open the door to leaves. It would not work. The man behind me said "I'll get it" I said thank you but why didn't it work?

2023: RANT-DRIVER'S LICENSE RENEWAL

 From October 2022

So what do I get from Verizon? 6 months of previous bills in a large envelope- then ONE bill for November 2022. nothing else.

GM was even more absurd. same thing with more history nothing new. Finally a regular bill in December.

Then trying to get an online appointment was another ball of wax.

Had to wait for social security replacement card and the mailed bills to arrive before I could attempt making an appointment. And also make sure the truck was available. After repeated tried FINALLY  got on the Registry site- AAA failed many times crashing and page freezing. Got an appointment for February 9 at 11:20am. I had cut my bangs in January. BIG mistake. I thought they would calm down from being too short in 2 sweeks time. WRONG. So Thursday the 9th finally rolls around. UI get down there early hoping to get out early. Parking spots were at a premium. Had to park across from Green Spot nursery which was quite a walk in cold winds and grey skies. The office has moved to the far end near McDonalds. It is tiny. I get in there and am greeted by a Registry officer. There were too roaming about- they looked like twins but maybe my imagination. One tells me where to stand since I had an appoitment. I get waited on and asked my phone number- she looks it up and verifies that I have an appoitment. Hands me a clipboard and tells me to fill out the form both sides. I thought I had done that online! Turns out I had. But still had to struggle with clipboard etc. I sit there admidst people coughing and not covering up. No masks just me sweltering behind mine I have on my Winter jacket and am hot. 

They call out numbers for you but I did not hear mine as it is so noisy. The person next to me nudged me. I stood for a few minutes in the supposed spot but was wrong it was another. Person was very pleasant- they all were. So after her checking all my paper work and scanning it she says I need my photo taken. I said what aboiut the eyes? she said that is not noted on her papers- jusrt a regular license. I said I had requested a Real ID on line that's why I brought all the paperwork, though instructions on line are NOT very clear. So she wipes down the eye test thing with an alcohol wipe. This after I had already suffered through 2 pix with static electricity in my hair. The eye test was such fine print even with my glasses amde me wonder what would I see on the road that small of text. But I said nothing. Then the last photo I turn to stand back there and the registry cop is standing in the way. Ordinarily I would have laughed but by now I saw no humor in this. She snickered. I stood back and she took the photo. The first two - my face was bright red and my right eye was running and half closed. The last one at least my eyes were not glistening I looked like a meth addict line up. so 50 bucks later I was finally out in fresh air.

and at the bottom of the page "oh,shit". I kind of used up the spaces not paying attention to the title of that row. Also when that page filled up I turned it over and wrote on the blank side titling it with new dates. Some things got moved to the next page. I stopped making "lists of things to do" years ago. But this felt good when I could cross things off or check them off. In the past I have had lists that I accomplished NONE of the items. ha ha ha.

Saw buttons on way out and used them. created an awkward moment not realizing someone was behind me. I saw looking for the outside buttons when she said thank you for holding the door. I recognized her and said "Barbara?" not remembering her last name of Lambert or Matheson. She looked at me like she did not recognize me ( I had a mask on) so I said "Jerry Moore's sister. you worked at Cape Cod 5?" She was best friends with my step sister Deborah who is now deceased. She replied not many recognize her out of character.
