CARS-Saturn 2000 SL1

 July 9 2019
Going through my photo files I notice I never added the Saturn pick up photos! So here goes!

Car still waiting to be picked up on the 8th. Will add photos then.

Having to give up my car is a thing I have been adjusting to since last Winter. Only going out on Fridays to get food etc and do recycling. The brakes since last Winter are scary they work if I slow down considerably. Which is tough to do when someone tailgates. I breathed a sigh of relief each time I drove back into the parking lot.

But I have nothing but praise for the car. I bought it September 2003 while working at Sears. It took me on that commute in all kinds of weather for 3 years. Took road trips to Quincy, Attleboro, Connecticut, Rhode Island. Most important I drove all over the Cape documenting the gravestones in the cemeteries here. It was high adventure to me and glad I did it- as that is no more.
It got 36 mile per gallon in town and over 43 on a trip.
Things that failed over the years was the sun moon roof not working. Brakes were repaired once incorrectly and when I was buying two tires in Orleans after that I was told the car was dangerous and needed to be fixed. $900.00 later. And I am still paying that off. So gave up the car because it needed too much work- brakes, door handles on three doors not working, ceiling fabric caving in, heat stopped working on the coldest day last January. That was brutal through all that cold weather. COLD FEET! And it was such a great heater! Thirteen years of super hot heat! Fantastic radio I  sang along to Van Halen, Bon Jovi you name it all the traveling tunes. The seats were comfortable and still in great condition.
I will post photos later.
I have donated the car to WOMR in Provincetown and should hear from the pick up some time this week.
I have to hand in my license plates and registration to the insurance people so I can cancel the insurance.
I had the car out front here with 3 signs on it FOR SALE. no offers. I called the local junk yard and he never got back to me. so. What else is new.

Pix of the take away.
Last time to reset the clock too
I had forgotten that I took it to Harding's Beach one last time on September 30 2018. Brings tears to my eyes still.

156,760 miles radio still working.

September 29 2018 day before last day on the road. I did not think I would make the Harding's beach trip.
