2023: STRONG ISLAND & SIPSON'S ISLAND& film THE PERFECT COUPLE

 MAY 12

UPDATE: SIPSON IS IN ORLEANS AND STRONG ISLAND IN CHATHAM. I STILL HAVE TO FIGURE OUT THE GIBB'S MARSH THING.

While investigating a missing memorial  bench  at the end of Strong Island Road I was taking photos. Not that clear. I saw what looked like a clump of scrap metal. Trying to find out what it is or called looked like it may be Gibb's marsh? At the same time found that Strong Island is part of Orleans and called Sipson's Island.

in 1711, Tom Sipson, the Nauset tribe's last sachem, sold the island to a group of 11 English colonists, and it has remained private ever since. Some development has occurred on the island, as evidenced by the homes still sitting there, but much of it has been untouched since

I will try to get a sunny day photo of Strong Island Sipson's Island

okay a friend Tony straightened this out for me. Strong Island which is straight ahead from Strong Island parking lot- is just that. Sipson's Island is to the right and is in Orleans. Still trying to figure out the small island that looks like a pile of metal from a distance and is a long strip of trees. That may be Gibbs marsh but does not seem close enough to Strong Island.

so driving down there  I get entangled in the works of the making of a Nicole Kidman film The Perfect  Couple. Security staff at the beach is mildly friendly and let me take pix of where the memorial bench used to be.

But the van from either CBI or the film crew stops and parks haphazardly anywhere so. Also a guards house at Bassing Harbor Road where they are filming in a house there. I have yet to drive by the old Stagg Chevrolet building where all the production crews and materials are gathered. Maybe some day before they leave. LOL

what is in that spot now
