It is safe to say Winter is not my favorite season. Everything below 40 is too cold for me. Add to that winds snow and ice ugh So for errands on January 8 this was my winds and snow protection

Laundry- end of cycle last rinse on both machines- still lots of suds. grrr.

turns out the ropey thing is a rabbit's intestines. Must have been slaughtered by a coyote!

January 15
Arctic blast moving in here with sub zero temps. As I was undressing to get dressed for the day I was pulling off my polar fleece jacket. Yanking at the right arm I caught my thumb or fingers in a button hole and it yanked my arm back like a wrestling hold. ouch had a heck of a time disengaging myself from the sleeve.
*
Toaster Oven knobs are so NOT user friendly. You can barely read what is said on the appliance, barely see the "arrow" on each knob AND the bottom one is very hard to turn on or off. grr.

January 12
When people park like they are the only people in the world. I would have to go to them and ask them to move if I needed to use the truck which is in plain view and they can see they are blocking the way.
*
January 13
Star Market Orleans- at least they got some new smaller carts but a few of the old green ones still there- very rusty. They work somewhat but are jerky to steer.
*
January 16
the frigid blast swept through here leaving ice on everything and a huge puddle of ice on the back cover of the truck. I asked Jer to remove it- he did and also installed the bar that raises the cover a bit so water does not collect. phew.
January 19
so got gasoline ( no rewards feature showed up) grrr and then in to town to get some special sewing needles. Enter store- employee & only other customer - no masks. Employee talking in loud voice. Ya know I would not give a fuck if these people stayed behind their plastic shields- but the shouting at the entrance. so left there and went to Ocean State Job Lot to get some cheap pillows. I use them to sit on here to either make it more comfortable or raise me to the correct level for the sewing machine. I used my rewards card from donating a jacket to veterans late last year still have a little more than 10 bucks left. So today on my birthday I spent a wrestling match with the 2 pillows getting a cover on them and then a pillow case on each good grief. Then the zipper broke on a favorite old sweater that is soon to become a rag. But still warm.
The 2 pillows airing. I get them all set to sit on and they are so freaking bouncy and "fluffy". I hope they flatten out and break in soon!
I was making masks and having problems with bobbins etc trying to solve it I saw yellow thread coming out of the machine. Here somehow a needle I had threaded got under the masks or whatever and got drawn in. only me LOL The rest of that disaster will be on my other blog. ha ha*
January 23
changing a ceiling fixture light bulb. The bulb cover weighs a ton. small exaggeration! So that's not going back up there. I will get clip on bulb covers for the kitchen and the stairway.
I had trouble getting the bulb out of the package once it was a third of the way out it reminded me of the birthday card I received about giving birth ha ha
fixture in kitchen and both covers
even the clip ons will not be fun to attach LOL

February 3
finally got to Hyannis! I cleared the snow off as best I could. Truck was frozen in place though and after a couple of tries I slowly turned to the right and backed up a bit then slowly turned to the left and then freaking gunned it and got out. Parking lot was solid ice. I had to be very careful I did not slide into something! When I got back here 4 hours later it was pretty much the same. LOL
errands were: Bird store in Hearth & Kettle plaza. Also wanted to check out the new crystals at the Dead Zone but she was not open yet. Hyannis ugh traffic and visibility sucked. Detours everywhere. I wanted to check the new KAM location but no way to get there. Turned into Home Depot area and yikes the construction is HUGE. No way was I going into that store with all those hazards. Got my jeans at Kohl's but almost gave up- so many different styles. The last pile I checked was the one I was looking for and of course they have changed, Tried them on before my shower last night and the ones identical I have and they should be fine. But please manufacturers stop "improving" stuff! Then headed to Target. Parked in front- what I consider the front. LOL and that entrance was closed and we were told to use the side entrance. what a walk! good grief. Finally got in there and asked the first employee I saw where the lamps were. They were straight down the aisle at the end. I was kind of disappointed but then after a lot of looking at prices found a task lamp for 8 bucks. LED bulb but not complaining- better than nothing. Then over to JoAnns I had a gift card but was still shocked at the prices of what was on my list so I did not get everything. Just 2 squares of material for masks, bobbins and a doll making needle for various crafts I do. Another fuzzy skein of yarn for leg warmers and a hat. Then over to Whole Foods. I definitely needed the soy milk and edamame in the frozen aisle. Got the milk and could not find the edamame. Started taking photos of the shelves so I could look on my camera. still none then figured it was the top shelf that even the Jolly Green Giant would not be able to reach. An employee had just pulled in with her cart and I asked for her assistance. She reached around up there and found 2! yay.
Did the scenic ride back to South Chatham. Not very scenic with the grey foggy skies but at least not that traffic.
oh on my way out of Hyannis I went the back way to check BJs and the new KAM. Traffic was horrible so I gave up on that and headed to rt 132 and 6A. OMG to the left was this huge building- like a city hotel or a college. What was it? Cape Cod 5 cent savings bank. wow.
BJs detour

while getting gasoline noticed this sticker. I tried to peel it off.

locks on truck trailer and apartment and office doors were sticking from all the rain and icy weather so sprayed and treated all locks with lock ease. In the process spritzed my face. oh joy. and needless to say my hands ended up blackened. Palmolive blue to the rescue.
February 10
Been shopping for food on Thursdays when I can. Usually the weekend has a horror story for the forecast. So it has been food Thursdays, Clean Fridays. Saturday and Sunday stay in place. Monday- every other Monday do laundry. The past few laundry days have been overload with having to clean extra things because of leaky windows etc. 7th & the 8th I did laundry this week because all of it would not fit in the truck. Colder weather too adds to the length of time it takes things to dry. So I was looking forward to a nice hike before food shop or after. It was sunny but turned out too windy. Still I did want to food shop. There was no recycling to do yet. I planned on shopping around 8:30am or 9am. I was doing my emails and heard a noise below. It was a worker , it turned out, who was going to use the truck. So I dashed down there to unload my things. I asked him how long he would be- he judged he would be done by noon. okay I could have my coffee after all and do a hand wash and wash the plastic sheeting I had up at the sun room windows until we had that deluge. So had my coffee and finished that by 9:30 figured it would be safe to leave here and not have to pee by 11. Ironed laundry and organized masks. DelRoy showed up at 11 and was finished. I asked if he needed the truck anymore today or Friday. He said no. I wanted to cover all bases as I would like to get some relaxing done. So I had to clean up the truck- sprayed Lysol on the vents, Tide spray on the seats. Wiped down the dashboard and doors with Lysol wipes. cleaned the windows. Loaded the truck. The usual craziness of other motorists. Get to Star and park near my usual spot practically winded by the cold air and winds up there. No Cara Cara oranges but got organic bag of Cuties. Get to the cereal aisle with full intentions of getting the Go Lean I used to eat so I get more protein. none, none of the Flax Plus with berries either, no Kashi Harvest wheat. I can't even remember what I got. Saw Dial soap pack good price- always need anti bacterial hand soap. Found Citrus Magic room freshener- will test that later. no peas. Got lottery ticket but had trouble getting the machine to read the slip- had to fill out a new one without glasses. LOL reminder- carry 2 with me at all times. Get to the last aisle for yogurt, bread and oleo. No Fage lactose free! so I got Chobani zero milk fat. no 100% whole wheat bread. so I get Pumpernickel. I check out in the self checkers. Leave and sort things out at the truck. Drive back here direct because I have an ice pack with the yogurt. no cemetery no drive for views. I am starving by now as all I had since breakfast was 4 Wasa crackers. 2 before I left here 2 on the ride back. Haul the groceries in and start water for the second cup of coffee. wipe off stuff etc and hang bags outside. Get out the slice of pumpernickel I toasted in error last night and open one yogurt. It looks different. not stiff and thick like Fage. I spoon out 2 spoonfuls and add a knife full of honey and taste it. very watery. by now I am fuming and calling 800 numbers for answers and burn my toast! The apartment smelled so good when I came back as I had curtains open and the bathroom window open. Fresh air and sunlight. took the flaming toast out on the deck railing Tried another piece of bread. By now really not hungry. The Chobani person was no help really just said it should be thick and said sorry. So I opened the other 3 after posting on facebook and asking if others found one thick one thin. Decided to take the 4 back opened in zip lock bags.. Get up there and park and gather my stuff and walk to the store and someone cut through where I was walking so they could park nearby. Did they see me? Did they care. Did I care. nope. enough already. So at the customer service desk signs everywhere closed go to cashier and get them to find an associate to do a return. The cashier points to a woman coming in. I walk down to a station and ask her to help. When I explain why I am returning she says sometime they have water on top. no they do not. I said they were all thin and almost poured out of the container- which she could see as she handles the bag. I end up getting Fage after all I get the Zero milk fat one and pay for it with the cash I got back on the return. 6 bucks paid 4 had my fanny pack on the scale and the register told me to remove it. LOL what a world.
If I could add to this I will. ha ha.
*
and add I will. Forgot to mention the ride back here was bright sun in my eyes. That is why I like to shop around 8:30am - 9am. One the way back I had to pull down the visor on the passenger side to block the sun coming right in my eyes. Did not realize until I was back here unloading the truck that an old, used I presume, sunburned facemask was up there and landed on top of my things in the passenger seat basket.

I remember the Tylenol scare and then the safe packaging well. Went to open new bottle of vitamins and it was too easy to open. Then the photos tell the rest of the story. Upon closer inspection the lid was not the same as always. The lid was a flip lid- usually a ribbed one. And there are supposed to be 90 pill. There were 92. Maybe that always happens Cannot find my receipt,. I will contact the company. Just so tired of this crap.
Went to the website of Nature Made and sent them a message. I realize it is not their fault, neither is it Star Market's fault. But a safety seal of cellophane would help on the outside so the consumer could tell in the store if it has been tampered with.
That huge dark pill is the easy to swallow ones that were hard to swallow for me- glad those are finished.
lot # 2435506 jul 2023 Multi for her no iron.
February 15
received a reply from Nature Made today in email
"We recently received your email regarding Nature Made Multi for Her 50+. We regret to hear that the inner seal was broken in the product you purchased. We regret any concern this may have caused you.
We follow rigorous packaging standards for all of the products we manufacture. Our bottles are heat-sealed by an automated apparatus and frequent samples are taken to ensure that the seals have been properly affixed to the bottle. Apparently, the bottle that you purchased may have escaped our detection or was damaged after shipping. Again, we regret any inconvenience or concern this may have caused.
The cap on this product should be a flip cap, the product does not contain iron. You may even get it with a screw cap if the flip cap is not available during packaging. Covid has caused an issue with our packaging supplies.
Quality is very important to us and we take every product complaint seriously. We thank you for bringing this to our attention and would appreciate having your product returned to us so it may be examined by our Product Team.
We are sending a prepaid postage label which you may affix to a box or envelope and use as postage for the return of your product.
As a valued consumer, we have processed a refund check in the amount of $12.73 under separate cover. Please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery.
We thank you for contacting us and hope that you will continue to use and enjoy Nature Made Multivitamins products with complete confidence."
my issue is the lack of an outside seal of cellophane- like what is on some spices and molasses bottle.

February 18 received the mailing label yesterday and mailed it today before I did recycling and donating lp records at the dump.

Received the 12.73 check from Nature Made. Cashed it at TD Bank in Orleans. Plexiglas partitions still up and most clerks wearing a mask. Good to see.

found a black washer on the floor months ago. I recognized it but could not figure out where it went until this day. The clothes drying rack was forever coming apart. And one time I just screwed it back together not realized it was missing the washer. Mystery solved.
February 17 packed up and mailed the tampered vitamins. I did not get a receipt because the prepaid postage did not include tracking
February 19
while food shopping I have to take photos of the shelves to see what is on the bottom and top shelves. Crazy pain in the neck with things so out of reach. and then there is always some clown who leaves what they do not want in a wrong section like this seafood or something in the frozen vegetable section. grrr.
February 20
Laundromat saga continued
Did a medium washer and a large. measure soap and softener sparingly as that stuff is expensive. I come back when the wash is done and the smaller washer is all suds and did not wring out. The clerk either did not want to or could not refund and swipe for me to run that wash through again. So I had to unload and put it all in the washer that was larger that I knew worked. This is the 2nd or third time this particular washer has malfunctioned. Finally got the washes done and dried and back here. I tried to contact them by phone the following Monday and the phone just rings or they want you to leave a message for a call back. I do not do that- end up playing phone tag so... Then I got to thinking. It is a Jamaican and she may take revenge on me reporting such. Even though it is not her fault or mine. Just make it easier to seek recourse grrr. So I will likely have to "eat" the 8.50 for the extra wash. use what is left on the card and go elsewhere.
February 22
I walk behind the bays here occasionally. Sniffing for gas leaks, vandalism, oddities, white quartz stones etc. This day I walk from there to the road and see something on the road side. a padlock. That would fucking hurt if it hit someone walking. That is why I give all vehicles a wide berth.

food shopping hazards when packaging is deceiving this looks like the lid is torn made me do a double take.
February 23
so I noticed that one of my sets of drawers on wheels was slanting a bit and thought I would investigate. Of course as usual one of the casters was broken- or should I say the hole where the caster goes in was broken. Nothing I can do about that. I guess I had too much weight in that stack. So I removed the drawers one by one and redistributed things. My 6 pairs of jeans were in the bottom 2 drawers and top drawer was my vitiamins. the two bottles of Cal Mag Zinc tablets alone are enough to break plastic. so two of those I put in a kitchen cabinet and put a not in the rearranged vitamin drawer about where they were. In doing all this rearranging I got rid of more things
In doing this I wondered if it is extravagant to own 2 pairs of jeans that are comfortable. I have 90 bucks left on a gift card. It will take some more thinking LOL It was a dark day so photos suck.
February 24
so a few years ago there was an article on the internet about saving fallen fledgling birds and how to knit a small baby hat to place them in. No places around here wanted them so I sent one to New Hampshire and kept one here and hung it in a shrub. It was ignored even with seed in it. They said it could also serve as a feeder so. So I moved it to the tree where I had a feeder. And nothing happened and then it disappeared. LOL I figured a squirrel got hold of it etc. There was a bad wind storm at the same time so it was a lost cause. Well on this day I was feeding the birds and saw the hat along the edge of the woods. I guess it blew back LOL in the trash it went.

Will Smith & Chris Rock remind me of Gore Vidal & Norman Mailer in a strange way.
I have no television by choice for over 10 years now.Not because of these people but Hollywood and the Oscars in general . Award shows and remakes .The list is endless. Hollywood from its inception has been a place with its own laws and rules. Idol worshiping at its worst. And while I abhor loud noises and violence of any kind I do enjoy seeing an old fashion fist fight. But a "slap" what is that all about? Would have been better had he formed a fist.
By the way it sounds "staged" to me. The memes will be neverending.

well I cannot find the post where I repaired the wobbly ironing board the first time but... it started to wobble again after applying black electrical tape. So I resorted to purple duct tape. That worked a little. So I give up. Next will try placing a throw rub under the ironing board and see if that works.

Do manufacturers ever use what they make? I wonder. I hurt my left arm- repeatedly and found it hard to wash my back in the shower. So the search was on for a back brush. Ended up with 2- one was so unstable it was impossible to use- the other was harsh beyond words. But that one at least will be used as a nail brush, for that it is perfect. The raspberry one will be used to clean bird baths.
I go out to gather recycling and put it in the truck and someone deliberately stuffed fast food container behind it. NO REASON to be back here ever.
I go to the town hall to hand in my census and absentee ballot application and the receptacle for that is covered in a green tarp. so I used the tax paying slot.

Bought 2 pillows with my rewards card at Ocean State Job Lot so I have something to sit on that raises me up. I try them and they are too puffy. I have had trouble with the kitchen sink drain for years. Figured it was just old. Plumber was here about 3 years ago and poured poison down there and it was a little better. I was told to fill the sinks once a week with hot water and let them drain out. Well actually it only got worse. So Jer decided to tackle it. wow. Two knives stuck in the pipes. How they got there who knows. NOT my silverware. The holes in the drain seem too small for these knives. oh well it drains like a champ now!
so after this I decided to go for a walk and see the "puddle" at the base of Commerce Park. With a car stuck.
on my way to the puddle saw the crushed parts of the vase I
saved.
on my way away from the puddle- how neat the old Whiteley building is
the puddle and the car- wonder if the car was salvageable

I am running out of my favorite deodorant a mineral salt rock crystal. Thought I could find a replacement somewhere. Never attempted the health food stores in Orleans or Dennis. Thought I would try what the "internet" said was gentle and effective. Dove. one it is hard to open and a puzzle. two it is sticky once applied and while I felt dry I did not feel that it worked.
thought I found the crystal in Walgreens and it is a liquid. I just cannot win with buying things.

my last gift card coffee at Hot Chocolate Sparrow. 20 cents left. It was terrific and I wanted to savor the last of it here. I unloaded groceries and wondered why the stairway smelled so good. I must have inadvertently knocked it over with a shopping nag. :(
bought some incense with a rewards card at Earth House. It turned out to be too smoky to be burned inside so I will use it as insect control outside. It burns so hot it discolored the inside of the cap I put over it. Smell good without burning but can be strong. I just cannot win with free stuff.
a set of drawers on wheel I keep having to repair the one wheel is wobbly. Tried everything. Ended up duct taping a wood block to keep it steady. so far so good.

RANT-OBSERVATION
I usually make my own cookies but every once in a while like a store bought treat. Usually Cinnamon Graham crackers. Been waiting for them to return to Whole Foods- been over 2 years wait for that. So I settled for Honey Made at Star Market- they finally were back on the shelves there. Opened and had 3 squares then checked the box to make sure there was Cinnamon on the package. yes. Have plenty of complaints daily and can barely keep up with them. So today in an idle moment decided to call the 800 number. I wrote down everything in large print on a separate piece of paper., knowing from experience that I cannot talk and read at the same time with a box in hand. They answer the phone basically with press 1 if this is about Oreos, press 2 for all other products. Remind me to NOT buy Oreos- that sounds ominous. So go through the "my name and phone number details" and she says "so we can call you back" WHAT??? " We are working from home still and sometimes get disconnected". okay. so I give her the number code on the box top which looks like: 07sep2022MM10707:43C OR 110707. By now I am giving the box the finger. I tell her that they are cinnamon but there is no cinnamon. she: "sounds like a quality issue". She wanted my email and that gets too tedious to say over the lousy connections so I decline. She wants to send me coupons so needs mailing address. That was fun. THEN says she will put me on hold so she can process this. On hold for longer than I thought necessary listening to fake xylophone music sounds. Ready to hang up and she comes back saying she processed it , is there anything else. no I thanked her and now my coffee is cold. LOL While I was pacing the kitchen waiting I was eating said graham crackers in tiny pieces. ( they are fragile) Took so long I needed to change ears with the phone and ended up putting a cookie piece in my ear.
It does not end here- I start reading the entire box after that call.

I seem to have fallen upon some annoying food rants.
Went to make pea soup one morning after carefully soaking the peas overnight. Opened the bag of carrots and all but 2 were slimy, broken moldy etc I needed three but made do
They usually keep at least 10 days refrigerated. Produce bags are designed to make it difficult to see imperfections on apples, oranges, carrots and potatoes. So I am back to buying loose bunch carrots.the last of the mandarins for this year I guess. Too many chewed up into a mass and lovely to peel one and find mold inside from a tiny break in the skin
and who would eat this? in the non refrigerated section of produce.
Quinoa pre cooked
May 23
bought loose rainbow carrots. Okay no mold, no cracked one no limp ones BUT one of them was a hard assed parsnip NOT a carrot.
good grief.

Since the pandemic and even before that with iffy weather etc and me not feeling like being out in public to vote I apply for absentee ballots I had a census to hand in and a ballot and this is what I was confronted with. The ballot box tarped over and signs everywhere. I used the tax payer slot which is not wide enough for the ballot so I had to fold it.

before I forget
after supper I went below to check the pad locks on the trailer. No sooner was I out the door below- the door just shutting I heard a noise. A noise that was not normal. Was it rushing water from the hose??? egad. I walked toward the noise and here it was a huge black dog slurping water from the birdbath on the ground. grrr. People and their unleashed dogs. So I say "go on get outta here" and the dog comes toward me dripping water. Like I was saying come here.I shooed him back and followed and saw his owner almost at the entrance to the parking lot encouraging him on.
I so look forward to my outdoor showers each year. This year definitely no for many reasons. This being the first I have no fucking privacy.

I needed #4 knitting needles. Had very busy errands on Saturday and figured I could get them at Ben Franklin on Sunday. I got there around 2:30pm and they were closed. I guess lack of help whatever, good grief. I ended up ordering them online at amazon. I had vowed last time I was in there to never shop there again. When I walked in that time the manager was to the left of where you enter- no mask and a customer was to the right no mask. Talking loudly to each other. I turned around and left.
at Shaw's someone buying what they want out of a bunched zucchini. They do that with bananas too. Maybe the store does not care but at least put them back with the zucchini.

My Libman Wonder Mop broke before I could use a refill I had- it rusted at the joint where you disconnect. I always dried it thoroughly after use. oh well. So I thought I would invest in a Swiffer wet mop mine was ancient over 20 years old and the pads would not stay in place. I use it and it is wider and nicer but the pads still do not stay in place and they dry out quickly and it is not a smooth push over the floor. So I ended up getting another Libman that I have to hand squeeze until THAT is broken in. ho hum

I have a barrister's chest that I rearrange the displays in maybe twice a year.It was always Mother's side of family top shelf then father's side next shelf. Then bottom shelf was things I did not need to access- since it was an awkward bend. The shelf above that was whatever. I do my chi gung each morning 3 sets. first facing East. then arm swings for keeping dexterity in my hands facing North. Next 5 more minutes of chi gung facing South then last set facing West. A few months ago I noticed that the way the photo of my father in his uniform was at an angle where it was like he was staring at my crotch. Just like he used to do when I was a child. A bit unnerving then and now. over 30 tears after his death. So today I decided enough was enough. Took the photo out of the frame and placed it in an album of his things. Took the frame apart and noticed the glass front was curved. Never seen anything like that before.
I could write a book and should. But this is finally done.

I have three product complaints:. soft toothbrushes that are NOT soft, a bottle of apple cider vinegar that has a crimped seal at the lid. and coffee cups with lids that do not fit
I searched the Oral-B package for contact information and there is an 800 number but I cannot hear clearly over the phone and it is frustrating. SoI find the website with some difficulty and there is no email contact just chat. So chat it is. I state that soft is not soft and the reply is blah blah we check for quality etc and it takes time to break in. I reply I am 74 years old and have been using soft toothbrushes for decades. This is not soft. Is there anything else I can help you with? I will donate the brushes and never buy Oral B again. They never offered an exchange or a coupon nothing fuck them.

comments:
Purchased this bottle and have no clue how it got by me that the seal around the lid was crumpled. I will not use it as a food and likely will clean drains with it. I would take it back but then I never know whether the company is told or product just tossed and give me a refund. Please do not call me. And I do not remember the price
Thank you
then I uploaded the photo
I click submit and it says unable to process please try later.grrrrrr

food shop
I like the store where I have shopped for years. But sometimes they have set ups that disturb my eye and sense of balance. And likely bad feng shui. This says "do not enter" to me.
I need a pair of back up glasses fixed. I go to Nauset Optical which is near the food store. and their hours are Monday through Friday. I also saw a sign that said masks optional.

And I am shopping for a computer chair. This one is at least 20 years old and slants me forward and none of the controls work anymore. fun! not.
I go into Staple. And ended up being Goldilocks- I sat in every freaking chair. None comfortable and most had arm rests. those get in my way. They have what I want online but not in the store! aggravating. I guess I will have to wait until I get to Hyannis.
This one looked promising until I realized it was not on wheels. ha ha

I am also looking for a recliner. The one I sleep in is 20 years old. This will be fun. NOT

went to get gasoline . People were parked at the pumps and pump in gas tank but unattended. It was crowded. As I was leaving a driver to my left motioned for me to go ahead of him. A car in a hurry obviously came out of no where and passed him and would have hit me if I had gone sooner. He was ahead of me at the lights. I gave him the finger as he passed that car.

noticed someone had pileds trash outside their bay below. Looked like someone was moving. But closer inspection it is boxes from baseball team t shirts etc. Wonder why they were not recycled???
Trash was picked up later thankfully. So it did not blow in the wind HERE. :)

well until about an hour ago I thought it was impossible to be 2 people at once. But I managed to be Tonya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan. Not skating though. I was taking apart the vacuum cleaner to hose out the wands. I placed one wand on the kitchen counter in front of me and proceeded to do the second wand. Then an involuntary LOUD "OW!". oh that hurt- the wand on the counter rolled off and hit me squarely under my right knee cap. I rubbed it so vigorously I though I might summon a genie. Then scooted on over and grabbed the Tiger Balm on the knee.

Long stretch of hot sunny weather. I fed the birds everyday and either emptied the bird baths or added water every day. This day the water was green in one of them So I decided to scrub them all. but wait. There was a dead bird in the one at the entrance to the steps here. eeek! I have found many dead birds over the years and mice etc but never one in the bird bath. I lifted it out with my litter grabbers and into a plastic bag and then that bag into a paper bag and placed in the trash for pick up on Monday. I scrubbed everything and threw away the scrubber. I sprayed the two remaining bird baths with a clorox spray and left them upside down overnight. Turned them right side up and rinsed out today and they are drying in the sun. I think I will stick to just one bath. Also threw away the old feeder which was hard to keep clean.

Not just this day but every day and everywhere. Especially Bridge street and Champlain road. People walking 3 and 4 across and bikers wearing dark clothing and wavering in the road.
August 18
someone did an oil change and left the kit by the door below. also beer bottles it appears with it. The next day I went below to gather those for recycling and they were gone- I did not see them in the bay either.
ho hum.
August 20
At least there is variety in the litter here- things I have never heard of. Thought this was a morning after pill or something but it is Luto Vapes. So I get these and cigarette butts galore. Learn something new every day. This was at 6:13am
August 27
while shopping and leaving Skaket Corners I saw how green the grass was. Are there no bans on watering in Orleans???
bought 4 yogurts by the time I got back here one was punctured. I placed it on a plate and turned it upside down and put in refrigerator overnight. It leaked- so went in the trash.
so I get back here all hot and bothered. Ready to unload groceries . I unlocked the downstairs door. It unlocked but would not open. Stuck. It did this the other day and I just kicked it and it opened. No kick worked on this. I went upstairs and came down and tried to yank it from inside nope nothing worked and I was starting to "feel" the effects of the kicking. So I had to unload food up the outside stairs which have a different rise to them and are ball busters. But I got it done. All except the water jug I bought. A gallon of water up a flight of stairs. So I quickly emailed and facebook messaged my brother to come and kick in the door and leave it open. Pull up the storm window to the storm door and I would make do with that. working so far. I saw a car drive through last night through the Mersevey cut through though and slow down and "look" So I went below and hung a dark scarf over that window and came up here and used my burglar post lock for the upstairs door.
I ordered a new entry door and a storm door and hardware through Home Depot. It should arrive this Friday. we will see. 600 bucks and a 79.00 delivery fee. Beats Jer having to take the time and truck to Hyannis and pick them up though.
I am sure there will be updates here. LOL

In a never ending search for a lip balm that works I decided to try Soft Lips. Ends up making my lips feel dryer! And it is so soft that the insides stick to the lid and squish out. Maybe I should store it in the freezer. I may just do that with the 3rd one.
September 12
so... long story longer. & likely TMI ( sorry not sorry )
Last night while taking my shower the toilet flushed. Always wonder if someone was lurking but no it has done this before. But not one to waste water in GOOD times I got out of the shower to unflush it. nope still running and flushing oh joy. And then would NOT flush. Took tank lid off to lift the rod and nope that did nothing. My head is in the way of the light so I see nothing. Bend myself into a pretzel to turn the water off below. ugh I need longer arrms.
So plumber showed up around lunch time. took an hour I guess, I was staying out of his way and ironing and cooking lunch. About tready to eat and he is below looking for a part or whatever and I had to pee BADLY. Not going in the toilet for many reasons. I had hauled the mop bucket into my "computer room" and where I was going to eat lunch. just in case. Well I need more practice aiming at a bucket! Didn't pee on my hands but not easy holding the bucket with both hands and squatting. Now I can sympathize with guys and their poor aim. The craziness did not stop there. He left and I wanted to pour the pee in the toilet. The bucket handle was down and of course pee all over it. Tried to stop laughing and gathered enough strength to clean up after a stranger and me.

oh and the power went out this morning around 9:25 for 6 minutes.

So today's shopping adventure was to find a recliner and a pair of sneakers, and a soft machine washable cardigan sweater. Slowly but surely I am wearing out my old clothes as they say. Stores do not open until later so I am tired before I begin.Almost in Hyannis this white car is roaring up behind me - it is 25-30 mph speed limit on Mary Dunn. Then he zooms past me on double yellow lines. I hate him and the car he drives.
I make Macy's my first stop. The parking lot was almost empty! When I came out after a disappointing foray through departments the parking lot was jam packed! I checked out the sneakers first. who wear those shoes in there??? zip nothing that would ever fit my foot.Have to pee of course and walk towards the escalator and it is out of order. Told to take the elevator ( groan) in the hand bag department. Found the rest rooms first. Just a side note- I think one side of that rest room is reserved for more intense use. Many doors shut not occupied. Pee and try to wash hands- takes a few tries to find a soap that works. Wash hands and dry them on my hair. Overhear a mother telling her child that there is not enough room for both of them, daughter should go first. Child sounded a toddler. poor thing. Then there is a wandering group of us looking for the elevator. Nearsighted me sees the sign and stands back. I was not going to pack myself into an elevator with more than 2 people. Still standing back 2 more aggressive females advance and press the up button. I still stand back. Finally opens and we load in. They both had on leggings. so wish I took pix! Find the Jockey underwear and realize they do not have the size I want. Maybe I confused my shoe size with ass size. Get in a fitting room and check what size I have on. Any other store I would have done that in the aisle. ha ha. Grab the panties and ask her where the sweaters are? are they all through the store. She never answers as the next customer was already horning in. ho hum. I walk the loop and find Karen Scott and a muted purple zippered hooded top. yay. Love the color- like ice cream. Then see a red one. grab that and change my mind Go back to the clerk. pay and she stuffs the top into the bag with the panties. ( with my permission). By the time I get outside it is hot. One more stop- Joann's for material for door curtains, quilting squares for mask making and 2 threads. Check out and the clerk admires my tattoos. Especially likes the Hello Kitty until she sees the sugar skull. ha ha. ( when I get home I realize there are no quilt sqaures in the bag. Check receipt- not charged for them so okay) Next stop get gasoline. 3.77. yay. I am pumping and the person parked behind me has an awful contagious sounding cough. I almost drop the pump handle. Try to keep filling and it won't. Get my receipt and leave. Whole Foods next. Store packed. Grab 2 edamame. search for something anything to eat with my grape juice in the truck. I am famished. Fig bars. perfect.Topped off gas in Harwich Port- 10-15 miles from other gas station and it is 4.06. Back in town I get a better photo of the old Cumberland Farms- Talkative Pig now Drifters. Drive down Morton road and wonder if many of those people got the notice about not watering lawn. green grass. oh well. Check out Seaside- everyone is still dead, and come back here. Takes me a week to get over shopping.

while ironing all the shirts I had to wash because of the dry wall dust I noticed this one label was fraying even more. decided it was time to go as that label has itched for YEARS. While ironing I noticed it was sticking and the sole plate was even darker. Used goo gone on it and that romoved some but next day I washed the plate and then thought oops the wetness will stain. So added water to the steam hole for the first time ever and blasted the iron. geez it stuck even more and was spotting the ironing board cover- get out my spare iron which is small and that sticks too! So new iron shows up on November 2. I will limp along with the spotter until then.

Stellar day shopping. NOT Almost blew out an eardrum stiffling a sneeze as I walked into Star Market. I topped off the day with Hyannis. Attention all department stores. Have a fucking directory available and if you are going to have carpeting on the floors- shampoo it or rip it up. yuck. Old Navy was a waste of time , so was Whole Foods But Macys- one recliner that was manual.end of search. The place was not without laughs though Thought I would share.
I guess my index finger is not assertive enough- had to press twice. Stood there like an idiot longer than necessary.

I posted these photos on facebook. I captioned each photo. the large spud one I mentioned how it reminded me of a line of Brando's in Last Tango in Paris how his prostate was the size of an Idaho potato
this next one reminded me of Queen's fat bottomed girls
This one I posted explaining I was in a long line and people in front of me- well the seat of their pants amuses me. I had a woman in front of me, not the one pictured. a man came up pretending to be breaking into the line and expalining it was his wife. Feeling frisky I said "Prove it" he said " how about if I kiss her?" I said'She may kick you in the crotch" They both chuckled and she said " it could happen. The she decided to leave and he stood in line ahead of me- end of conversations!
well facebook pulled the post. reinstated it today apparently the comments about the 2 people was against rules. So just the potatoes show now
this is what a warning looks like for those who never break the rules. and the 2 peeps

I go to TD Bank expecting to get 6 crisp new 5 dollar bills. There is actually a line. 2 tellers an older man and a woman customers. Old man leaves and person who looked like a recovered drug addict and sounded like one. White leather sneakers, baseball jacket, a cough you would not believe. I am not being judgy here- I looklike a bag lady or that I live under a bridge somewhere 90% of the time. BUT he did not know his address- he lives with his parents and does not know that address or their phone number. Does not have email but they do and he does not know the email address. I do not mind standing in line I get to do a lot of thinking standing in one spot. but I felt like saying- "go home and get your information together and come back"
Not kidding 30 minutes. That teller had to go to a back room and confer with someone. He told the guy to take a seat and he would wait on me when he came back. He comes back and an older woman comes in the back way and gets in line like she is next. Teller says I am next. Woman says she has to get home. me: oh please wait on her and let's get going here..
I finally stepped up . The woman to my left was still being waited on. I can remember when Mom worked at the bank if a transaction was detailed you were in a room with an assistant manager. ugh. So I tell the teller I would like 6 new- crisp 5 dollar bills. He starts shuffling through what looked like money from a concession cash box. all wrinkled. I reminded him I would like something that looks at least fresh. He says he is trying to find 6. LOL Then I gave up I said give me the 6 you have and I will wash and iron them when I get home.

I had to pick up a gift card. Went in to this store and the clerk, a young male waited on me. He had the filthiest hands I have ever seen. Not mechanic's dirt, not printer's ink. Just filthy nails. I was so glad I was not getting coffee from him. I asked for the receipt and he questioned if I really needed one. Then handed me one. Never said thank you. ugh

Organic bananas were on sale. They were green. I bought them. They never ripened.
grrr I think more than a week passed and they were still green. one of them had a big scar and was slightly yellow. I tried to eat it. It tasted funny.

November-December
I bought a Sunbeam Iron from Target online end of October. It arrived the first week of November From the very beginning it did not get HOT. or stay hot. I contatced Target asking if I could return it to the store in Hyannis without a receipt. I do have the box. No reply. so then I contact Sunbeam and they refer me to another company that handles this. After many many emails and many questions I was amazed they did not want to see my mother's birth certificate. Finally last week in December they send an email saying a check is on the way. No instructions to return it. So I will use it until it completely fails . I love it- light weight and easy on my hands but it doesn't stay hot. good grief. They asked for photos and they got photos.
oh and the last emnail they addressed me using my last name, not my first name like all the previous emails.
