WEATHER: 2021- more pix

 January 31 2021

Of course we get winds etc and deep freezes but I rarely can capture with a photo- but the deep freeze we had recently left behind some ice on Bridge Street

**

January 23 2021

icy morning on the kitchen door.

same day gale warning flags at Coast Guard Station Chatham. Felt like hurricane force winds to me.

January 26 2021

we got about 4 inches of snow. All of a sudden I looked out the kitchen door and wham there it was.

then next day a thaw and this strange pattern

January 24 2021

wicked wind storm blew through and raised hell below. I tried to move things back but the winds were still roaring- so Jer did it the next day.

January 29 2021

Headed out for errands. I was surprised the road conditions here were so awful. It was slippery!

Seaside not that much snow but very slippery under foot.

February 5 2021

so there was a storm predicted for the Sunday. It happened to be the day I planned on doing laundry. I needed those clothes! So did recycling, did laundry and walked to get lottery then back here and unloaded all laundry then loaded truck to go food shopping. ugh Super Bowl weekend and everything was picked over. no frozen peas, no frozen Brussels sprouts etc. But got what I could. So it snowed off and on with horrible winds and frigid temperatures all fucking week. Today the 12th is sunny and I hope the icy crust on the truck melted. I washed woolens and stuck them out on a drying rack. They dripped and dried somewhat. The sweaters were stiff.

February 7

the wind catchers looked happy LOL

we got a total of about 7 inches over the week. That's enough.

I forget what day it was but I finally was able to vdenture out for the mail and saw a package leaning against the wall. It was the drying rack I had ordered. yikes what a bitch that was hauling inside to the stairway and opening so I could pull it out and  carry it upstairs. It is a beauty though- wider than the two metal ones I already had.

trash day- Jer dragged the barrel through the snow- I sure as hell would never have been able to do so. He sure does cram it full! LOL

night of the 9th it was still out there <groan>

I guess the 10 was the day the package arrived funny I did not take a photo LOL Amazed at how the snow doesn't lay and disappear quickly under the table where I display my white quartz collection. Big piles out front from the plow and the railroad ties (landscape ties) iced with snow. Icicles! yeah it is Winter. You can see the postman's steps

either the 10th or 11th of February sunny day but brutally cold I washed woolens and put them out on the deck to "dry" they got stiff in 5 minutes.

same day I guess

snow & shadows

Went to feed birds the other day. I know this time of the year to stay as far away from eaves as possible. I checked behind the bays after feeding the birds and saw this HUGE chunk of ice from the roof- corrugated like the roof. So heavy I couldn't even move it. Then I saw the icicles flying. eek. Not great photo but mother nature is not cooperating with lighting . Flash might have caused an avalanche

While they were polishing the firetruck I was watching weather develop to the  North West. Cumulonimbus cloud and a strange cluster of clouds. we got maybe 10 drops of rain. It did finally rain though.

July 3

July 8

beautiful bright skies when I was out on the deck sipping tea at 5am

then this came in at 5:18am and the security light came on outside again and stayed on.

**

Elsa tropical storm by the time it got here rain winds and thunder.

2:51pm

I was sitting in the front room and heard a loud bang below looked out the window and saw skin-shield from the cell tower dropped in the parking lot behind the truck. It could have killed someone. I saw Mike from below show up and warned him to steer clear. I called police and so did he. They showed up and did nothing visible.

3:56pm

a white truck showed up and the guy was picking up the debris. When Mike looked around he found another piece under the truck. He said the tower was swaying and more pieces were loose. Mike asked if I was going to move the truck. I said I can't even open a door the winds are so strong.

I asked the guy if he was from the cell tower people. yes. are you going to do something? this has happened before. He thinks so. well nothing was ever done before. so.

**

July wild fires in the West and NorthWest have drifted here creating constant hazy skies and bad air quality. Nothing like out there but the air smells like and breathes like a camp fire.

The usual sunset

contrasted with a temporary blue sky highlighting the broken cell tower

**

July 27

long hot Summer. While indexing gravestone photos I saw this one from March 14 in Pine Grove Cemetery a very comforting blue. And I am not a fan of being cold.

**

July 31

last sunset of July 2021. I hardly ever if never go out after supper. I hate driving at night for visibility and drunk drivers. But I had not been down to Harding's beach for a while and the skies were clear and I had use of the truck. Had my supper and putzed around here until 10 minutes to 8pm sun was supposed to set at 8 and I did not want to be driving INTO a setting sun.

September 10

I was cleaning up the truck for my use as I do each Friday. Tail end of cleaning the sky got very dark and I saw in the West what looked like a funnel cloud or 2 or 3 ready to drop! Nothing happened here other than a kick up of the winds. I got up here and hauled in my laundry racks just in time- a hail squall of maybe a minute or two.

less than a minute later blue sky!

December 3

we had another tornado rip through here. Before midnight I was awakened by that familiar roaring sound. Got up to pee. It lasted at least 10 minutes- hard to get back to sleep. When I got up at 4 did my usualy routine then had my sips of tea on the deck and looked below and could not figure out what it was- it was the trash barrel. So that was the dragging on parking lot thud of a drop and flip. yikes
