2023:MUSIC

So yesterday I deleted 106 WCOD from my preset on the radio. I had listened to that station for years. Dan & Stephanie in the morning. They got "fired" a couple of years ago. She is on Lemonadio. Dan is on Y 101 rumor has it in the afternoon I have yet to catch him. So they made a new team of Kevin and Nina. Kevin is the tireless DJ who does everything. He is loud but not obnoxious. ah just tuned in and Dan is on the radio. So back to Nina and Kevin. They disappeared as a team and Kevin is on drive at 5 commercial free. I try to catch him but I am usually fixing supper. They replaced Nina and Kevin with canned radio team of Doug and Jenn. They are horrible. If WCOD ran the promo for their show one more time.... It was a banana eating joke. They had other funny stuff but that one over and over. They got the boot. So now it is 99.9 the Q- the old radio station WQRC they play new pop and older music. Pleasant mix. If  something annoying comes on I switch to Y101.

So this morning I heard a tune and wrote down the lyrics I caught. Turns out it is an old song from 13 years ago by Dido LOL

February 22

Heard this faintly on the radio through my left ear while on the computer. I thought first it was part of the sound track to a movie from the  80s-90s Natural Born Killers. Went to youtube and nope it is a recent release so now I am curious what the soundtrack to the film was!

Natural Born Killer-Highly Suspect

added 106 back to my presets just so I can listen to Kevin in the afternoon once in a while.

Finally got my radio antenna wire from amazon and reception is much bbetter.

February 27

heard this tune on the radio early today wrote down the words so I could look it up later. I had hoped I would remember later in the day. Nope. so after supper I googled it. Men at Work! I was thinking Huey Lewis and the News maybe.

Now to find out if they also did Beds are  Burning. If not who did! nope that was Midnight Oil.

Who can it be now

Beds are burning

Then this newer song grabbed my ear and I love the instrumental lead in to Bloody Marty Lady Gaga.

This is someone else doing a video with Lady Gaga's voice.

okay I do chi gung breathing exercises every morning for 15 minutes- 3 separate sets. I turn on CDs for this. About every 5 years I listen to Madame Butterfly. Him singing out Butterfly brings me to tears every time. I had actually forgotten the story and googled that. Two links in the wikipedia entry were worth following.

Madame Chrysanthème is a novel by Pierre Loti, presented as the autobiographical journal of a naval officer who was temporarily married to a Japanese woman while he was stationed in Nagasaki, Japan.[1]

It is based on the short story "Madame Butterfly" (1898) by John Luther Long, which in turn was based on stories told to Long by his sister Jennie Correll .

I had to google why she killed herself!

Madame Butterfyl wikipedia

so imagine the strangeness of when I listened to the rest of the CD while ironing. I heard the humming chorus but missed Pinkerton singing out Butterfly.

Beautiful graphics with this video

April 9

so I hear this song every morning on the radio. Wanted to listen to it on youtube but could not remember the artist or title. so google to the rescue. Finally found the title and a clever little video but not before learning a new sex position at my age. LOL

snow angel in bed article

The snow angel is a sex position where the penetrating partner lies on top with their head down by the bottom partner’s legs. The bottom partner then lifts their legs around their partner’s lower back to elevate their pelvis for easy entry. “It’s a playful position that offers new angles and a whole lot of stimulation for both partners,” explains Isabelle Uren,(opens in new tab) a certified master sexpert with degrees in psychology and cognitive semiotics.
